A BaZi chart is built from four pillars — year, month, day, hour — each carrying two characters. Eight total: 八字, literally “eight characters.” The most personal one is your Day Master (日主) — the element at the center of your chart. Not how the world sees you. How you actually move through it.

But underneath all that certainty, I was carrying something I couldn’t measure at all — a quiet, constant sense of not being enough, a hollowness I couldn’t argue my way out of.
Then I watched something I couldn’t explain. I sat in on readings and watched a stranger describe someone’s inner world — their fears, their patterns, the exact shape of a struggle they’d never told anyone — with a precision that should have been impossible. I came in a skeptic. I left changed.
